3. Wood core board
This kind of core board, also known as Blockboard or large core board, is a kind of plywood with solid wood core. It is made by cutting logs into strips, splicing them into cores, and covering veneers on the outer surface. The vertical (according to the direction of the core plate) flexural and compressive strength is poor, but the transverse flexural and compressive strength is high. According to the processing technology, the core plate can be divided into machine splicing and manual splicing. Manual splicing is to manually insert the wood strip into the plywood. The wood strip has small extrusion force, uneven splicing, large gap and poor nail holding force. It can not be sawed. It is only suitable for overall splicing. The machine splicing plate has large pressure, small gap, smooth splicing, uniform bearing capacity, compact structure and not easy to deform after long-term use. Wood core board can be divided into poplar, Chinese fir, pine, etc. Excellent plate surface is smooth and flat, not easy to warp and deform. It can be divided into two types according to sanding.
Good spiral force of wood core board; It has the characteristics of high air permeability, strong quality, sound absorption and heat insulation, and the water content is not high, generally 10% ~ 30%, and the processing is simple. This board is more stable than the actual board. Its specification is (length / width) 2440mm * 1220mm and its thickness is 15mm ~ 18mm. In model making, it is generally processed by cutting machine.
